How it started
The gap we kept running into.
Supply chain is one domain that will be profoundly transformed by AI. We need to move AI beyond being merely an assistant and give it the ability to make decisions and take actions.
Symplichain was founded in 2025 by Ashit Swain and Atul D, after years inside supply chain processes – enterprise procurement and logistics technology on one side, finance and strategy on the other. They met while studying for their MBA at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. Ashit spent 12+ years building supply chain and enterprise technology, including Moglix’s supply chain and analytics stack, after roles at Sterlite Power, Visa and Coal India. Atul spent 10+ years across strategy, finance and M&A.
From both their vantage points, they kept seeing the same thing. A delay, a short delivery or a disputed invoice could be spotted in minutes, then take days to resolve as teams chased it across ERPs, transport systems, inboxes, spreadsheets and chat groups. The systems existed, but they could not carry context between them. Entire teams had quietly become the integration layer themselves.
Meanwhile, as generative AI emerged, supply chain and operations quickly became areas where the technology showed enormous potential. What it lacked was the domain intelligence and the system-wide context it needed to take meaningful action.

We shipped SymAI Ask™ as our first product, combining a supply chain AI assistant with your domain context. We are now expanding our product suite to harness the full power of generative AI to make decisions and take action across the supply chain.
